Statement of Faith

Bible

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments are God’s final, infallible, complete and authoritative Word to man. God’s Holy Spirit inspired men to write the scriptures. The scriptures direct us not only in our beliefs, but also in our daily lives.

God

The one true God has revealed Himself to man as the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary work on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His exaltation to the right hand of God.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to and should earnestly seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The initial physical evidence of the baptism of the Holy Sprit is “speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit Gives utterance”. This was the normal experience of the early Christian Church.

The Church

The Church is the Body of Christ. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church. God is fulfilling His redemptive plan for mankind in the world today through His church.

Fallen Man

God created man good and upright. Man by voluntary transgression fell, resulting in not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

Salvation

Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus. Salvation results in both inward and outward transformation. At the time of salvation, the person believing in Christ becomes “a new creation”. As the believer grows to Christian maturity, the Holy Spirit works in the believer to conform them to the image of Christ.

Ordinances

The Scriptures command the ordinance of baptism by immersion. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Jesus commands His followers to take the Lord’s Table (Holy Communion), consisting of the elements – bread and the cup.

God at Work

We believe that God, through His Holy Spirit, works in His church today the same way He did in the New Testament Church. We believe in and seek to see functioning in our church the spiritual gifts taught in scripture, including gifts of miracles and healings.

Return of Christ

We believe in the bodily return of Christ to the earth. He will return to rule as Lord, and those who have believed in Him will live with Him forever. Those who have not accepted Him as their Savior will be eternally separated from God.
