Take A Beat 2024, Ep. 10 – Pivot! Pivot! Pivot! PART 1 (Melisa Simanjuntak)

“The Baptist girl who never claps during worship. Suddenly everyone’s like chaotic. Pentecostal. I’m like, what’s going on? Why is someone on stage singing wearing a hat? So disrespectful, right?”

In this conversation, Pastor Melisa Simanjuntak shares her journey of transitions and how she ended up in ministry. She started her career in finance and accounting in Australia, but felt unfulfilled and lonely. She moved back to Jakarta and worked in a bank, but struggled with the corporate culture. Eventually, she found her way to IES Jakarta and started serving in small groups and youth ministry. Through saying yes to opportunities and discovering her passion for teaching and leading, she transitioned into full-time ministry.
